Minnesota has already shown in Game 3 that when their defensive intensity is dialed in, they can completely disrupt Denver’s rhythm. At home, where they’ve quietly strung together a strong run in first-round games, that defensive ceiling becomes even more impactful.

The  Nuggets will always carry respect because of their offensive firepower, but there are real cracks showing in this matchup. Despite leading the league in scoring and three-point efficiency during the season, Denver has struggled to generate clean looks against Minnesota’s length and physicality. More importantly, they’re one of the worst teams in the league at forcing turnovers, which allows Minnesota to operate comfortably in the half court. When the Nuggets aren’t creating easy transition chances, their defensive issues—ranking in the bottom third in points allowed—start to surface, especially on the road where they’ve had trouble covering numbers.

This series is increasingly being dictated by Minnesota’s ability to control the paint and dictate tempo, with Anthony Edwards leading the charge and multiple defenders making life difficult for Nikola Jokic. The Timberwolves don’t need to be perfect offensively—they just need to stay composed and let their defense create separation. Given their recent success at home in this spot and Denver’s ongoing struggles as a road favorite, Minnesota on the money line is the side, with the value pointing toward them taking a commanding 3-1 series lead.
