Those trends matter against a Knicks team that thrives in these home spots and consistently responds when the stage gets bigger.

This series was expected by many before the season even started because the rosters match up well on paper, but New York has repeatedly shown more reliability under pressure over the last two years. The Knicks play with a level of toughness and urgency every single night that Cleveland still has to prove it can sustain over a seven-game series. Tom Thibodeau’s club defends, rebounds and executes in late-game situations, while the depth has quietly become one of the biggest edges in this matchup. The extra rest should only help New York, especially with several key players benefiting from time to recover and reset before this series begins. Madison Square Garden is going to be a difficult environment for Cleveland to handle in Game 1 and the Knicks have already covered nine straight home games when playing with a rest advantage.
