Las Vegas -1½ -110 over Houston

8:00 PM EST. We are sticking with Las Vegas again this week, and there is no reason to overthink this one. Preseason football is about much more than the final score, and the market has a tendency to put too much emphasis on what happened the previous week. We are not interested in chasing last week's results or letting the public narrative dictate the price. We are looking for the team that has the better opportunity to take advantage of the situation, and once again we trust that team is the Raiders.

Las Vegas is operating under a new coaching staff that is trying to establish a completely different standard around this football team. That matters more in August than it does during the regular season. Players are competing for roster spots, young players are trying to make an impression and veterans are learning exactly what the new regime expects from them. That creates a level of urgency that we like, particularly with a coaching staff that has every reason to demand a disciplined and competitive effort every time this team takes the field.

Houston will get plenty of attention simply because they are at home, but we are not interested in paying for the obvious side. The Texans have their own preseason objectives, and this is not a game where we expect either coaching staff to reveal everything. What we do expect is Las Vegas to continue building on the new identity being established throughout camp. The Raiders have something to prove, and we would rather back that motivation than assume the home team automatically deserves our money.

We backed Las Vegas last week and we are going right back to the well tonight. The Raiders are our play on the road to beat Houston. We like the direction of this team, we like the approach of the new regime, and we believe the market is still in the process of figuring out what this version of Las Vegas looks like. We are not chasing last week's score or getting caught up in preseason noise. We are trusting the Raiders right the culture and get that winning feeling back in the Silver & Black.
