Arizona -1 -110 over Dallas

10:00 PM EST. The Dallas Cowboys are the Dallas Cowboys. They have star power, household names and one of the largest followings in professional sports. They're football royalty. They're America's Team, and every summer brings another wave of optimism and attention.

Arizona resides at the other end of that spectrum. Nobody cares about the Cardinals outside of Arizona, and sometimes it feels like nobody inside Arizona cares either. They've been dismissed before a meaningful snap has been played, with a projected win total sitting at the very bottom of the NFL.

That's precisely what makes Arizona so appealing here. The Cardinals know exactly what is being said about them. Players read the same articles we do. Coaches hear the predictions. You don't think an entire locker room notices when virtually every publication in America tells them they're going to stink? Arizona has come into this preseason with a massive chip on its shoulder, and it shows. From the coaching staff to the last man fighting for a roster spot, the Cardinals are approaching these games with urgency. They're not treating August like an inconvenience. They're playing these games as though something is actually at stake.

That's a massive distinction because Dallas has absolutely nothing to prove here. For the Cowboys, the objective is simple: get into Arizona, get some work in and get the hell out without losing anybody important. Winning a preseason game means virtually nothing to them. Arizona is approaching things from an entirely different perspective. This is a team trying to establish a culture, generate some confidence and give its players something positive to build upon before a season in which almost everyone has already buried them.

We've always said that you cannot remove the human element from sports, and the human element is screaming at us here. Arizona has been written off before the season has even started, and these guys see it, hear it and aren't particularly happy about it. Meanwhile, the Cowboys arrive carrying all the prestige, attention and expectations without remotely the same incentive to win this particular football game. That disparity in urgency allows us to step in on the Cardinals at home at a deflated price.

Arizona is playing to win. Dallas is playing to leave healthy.
