Young pitchers often possess quality stuff, but major league hitters are quick to expose mistakes, especially when nerves and inexperience enter the equation. Until a prospect proves he belongs at this level, there is always risk attached to laying a price with him.

San Diego offers the more trustworthy side. The Padres have the deeper roster, more experience, and a lineup capable of applying pressure throughout the game. Baltimore's home field and organizational reputation appear to be carrying significant weight in the market, but those factors don't eliminate the uncertainty surrounding a young starter making his way at the major league level.
