Kyle Bradish continues to produce strong underlying numbers, carrying an xERA that closely mirrors his 3.62 ERA while maintaining an impressive strikeout rate of better than 9.0 K/9. His command has remained a strength with a BB/9 below 3.0, allowing him to work ahead in counts and limit damaging innings. Bradish has also done an excellent job suppressing hard contact, a key metric against an aggressive Boston lineup.

Ranger Suárez has put together another solid campaign with a 3.16 ERA, but several underlying indicators suggest he's been outperforming his peripherals. His xERA sits higher than his traditional ERA, while his strikeout rate is more modest than Bradish's at roughly 8.0 K/9. Suárez continues to limit walks with a strong BB/9, but his reliance on contact management leaves less room for error against a disciplined Baltimore lineup that consistently ranks among the league leaders in hard-hit rate and extra-base production against left-handed pitching.

The market is pricing this game largely around Suárez's ERA, but Bradish owns the stronger combination of swing-and-miss ability and underlying metrics. Baltimore's offense is built to handle left-handed pitching, working deep counts and capitalizing on mistakes in the strike zone. Bradish gives the Orioles the better opportunity to control the game from the mound, making Baltimore the value side as a road dog in a matchup that is considerably closer than the odds indicate.
