Steelers/Panthers Over 35

Acrisure Stadium – Pittsburgh, PA

7:00 PM ET. There’s a very loud case being made for the Under in this one. No starters. Nothing to play for. Bad quarterbacks. Flat motivations. But that narrative — like most of the noise surrounding preseason — is built on the assumption that inefficiency equals stagnation. It doesn’t. Especially not in August.

These third-stringers and long-shots aren’t out there to eat clock and hand off. They’re out there to prove something. They’re chucking the ball, scrambling out of the pocket, and trying to make plays. We’ve seen it every year. A preseason finale doesn’t play like a chess match — it plays like a high school talent show with no one trying to punt.

The Steelers' backups — guys like Skylar Thompson and Logan Woodside — are experienced enough to move the chains against defenders who’ll be bagging groceries next month. Woodside hasn’t lit the world on fire, but he knows how to read a defense, and Thompson brings mobility that can crack a vanilla coverage scheme wide open.

Then there’s Carolina, whose QB room looks like an XFL casting call — and that’s exactly why we like the Over. Jack Plummer and Bryce Perkins aren’t going to dink and dunk for field goals. They’re going to run around, take risks, and maybe throw a pick-six or two. That’s all part of the recipe.

This is the perfect chaos game. No rhythm, no stars, and no fear of failure. Just desperate guys trying to make rosters by slinging the ball and calling their own number on 3rd-and-9. That doesn’t lead to clean football — it leads to wild swings, short fields, busted assignments, and busted coverage.

The number is short because the market sees dysfunction. We see volatility. And in a game full of mistakes, blown tackles, and fourth-string DBs with cement feet, volatility is our friend.

Take advantage of BET365's early MLB payout offer!

For straight bets, if the team you back to win goes 5 runs ahead at any stage during the game, BET365 will pay out your bet in full regardless of whether the opposition comes back to win the game.

For parlays and Same Game Parlays, if a team you have backed goes 5 runs ahead, this selection will be marked as won within My Bets, with the remaining selections left to run.

Here is a wager we were paid out early on that would eventually lose.
