NC State -7½ over Wake Forest

7:30 PM ET. The market has the memory of a goldfish. NC State hasn’t covered easily in two weeks, and suddenly Wake Forest looks like the side. Except it’s not. The Pack sleepwalked through ECU and Virginia, sure, but they’re the far better program with the better athletes, and the market is punishing them for close wins that don’t mean a thing here.

That -7.5 hook looks like candy. Casuals see it and think Wake can lose by a touchdown and still cash, especially in a rivalry game. That’s the trap. The half-point almost never matters when the favorite is superior — they cover in full or they don’t.

Wake Forest? They beat Western Carolina and barely survived Kennesaw State. Those results don’t translate when they’re facing a team that actually belongs in the ACC’s top tier.
