Dallas +6½ over Green Bay

8:20 PM ET. Before the season, the Cowboys were being sold as a legitimate NFC threat. George Pickens was supposed to be the perfect complement to CeeDee Lamb. Javonte Williams was pegged as the missing piece in the backfield. Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland were going to lock down the secondary while the offensive line provided stability. On paper, it looked like a contender.

Injuries have stripped that paper clean. Lamb is shelved for 3–4 weeks. Tyler Booker, their starting guard, is unlikely to go with a high ankle sprain. Bland hasn’t suited up in two games. Diggs couldn’t finish last week against Chicago. Depth? The Cowboys don’t have it, which is why the market has swung heavily to Green Bay. The Packers are now spotting road points in Dallas, and that’s where we want to step in.

What’s driving the price? Narrative. The books and the market are eating up the “Micah Parsons revenge” storyline after the Packers punked him and the Cowboys last year in the playoffs. Suddenly, this game is being sold like Parsons is going to single-handedly turn back Jordan Love. It makes for a great highlight package, but it doesn’t change the fact that Dallas is now being asked to take back close to a touchdown at home, where they’ve historically been tough out as underdogs.

This isn’t about trusting Dallas’ depth, which doesn’t exist. It’s about fading inflated market perception. The Packers’ win last week was flattering, and now they’re laying big road lumber because people want to line up behind Parsons’ “revenge.” That’s not handicapping, that’s storytime.
