1:00 PM ET. The market sees the Giants making a quarterback change and immediately decides they’re unplayable. Russell Wilson is out, Jaxson Dart is in. To us, that’s an upgrade, not a downgrade. Wilson has been cooked for years, while Dart brings mobility, a live arm, and the one thing Wilson could no longer provide — hope.

The Chargers are coming off a midweek trip to Brazil, have already played three straight AFC West division games, and now they’re tasked with a “nothing” game against a struggling NFC East squad. Motivation is an underrated factor in the NFL, and this is exactly the kind of spot where a fatigued, overextended team can get caught flat.

Los Angeles’ offensive line has injuries piling up, and Herbert’s timing and rhythm have been inconsistent when facing any kind of disruption. Even elite quarterbacks like Justin Herbert aren’t immune to fatigue, long travel, and a lack of focus against a team that poses little threat in the standings. The Chargers’ defensive numbers look great on paper, but they’re susceptible to pressure and big plays—especially when opponents have a chip on their shoulder and nothing to lose.

History backs the Giants in this kind of setup. Home underdogs in September and October are 27-4 to the under since 2017, and teams traveling from the West to the East have gone 45-16-2 ATS in early-season games since 2019. New York has a chance to keep it close and cover this grossly inflated number, exploiting a Chargers squad that’s tired, beat up, and already looking past this game.
